Are you a graduate or experienced teaching assistant looking for your next role within a mainstream or specialist school?Long-Term Teachers work with a variety of fantastic schools in South Devon who are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and hard-working teaching assistants to join their team. We would love to hear from candidates who are looking for either full time, part time or supply based work. Work will be available during term time only, Monday to Friday, typically between the hours of 8:30am – 3:30pm (depending on the school).As a teaching assistant, you will provide outstanding support to students with a variety of needs. They may need more support to follow the classwork, or have additional needs which may include: autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The ideal candidate will have sound knowledge of strategies to support young people. It is essential that you are able to adapt and be flexible to ever-changing situations and environments.Main responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in the day to day running and delivery of lessons
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis where required, helping them to stay focused and engage in their learning
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as preparing resources and organising displays
  • Assist in creating a positive learning environment
  • Leading small group interventions
