Are you a designated accountant who loves exciting financial reporting, planning and analysis work in a fast-paced and dynamic organization? Do you enjoy working closely with operations management to help increase revenues and the bottom line? Our Halton region client boasts operations and locations across Canada. They are a household name and the dominant player in their industry. Due to exciting growth, our client is looking to add a Finance Manager to the team. This role will report to the Director of Finance. Although this role is currently 100% remote, you must be willing and able to work in the Halton Head Office as required, so only candidates residing in the GTA will be considered. The client also has very tight financial reporting deadlines and you will be required to work extra hours at month end (approximately 2 late evenings at every month end) and during budgeting season.The Finance Manager will be a self-starter with strong P& L analytical skills. The successful candidate must be a designated CPA or very close to designation. In addition to preparing monthly financial statements and financial analysis, the Finance Manager will be heavily involved in the RFP and bid process. You will also be heavily involved in the company’s annual budgeting and forecasting process. To be considered for this role you must also be willing to travel approximately 10-20% of the time to locations within your region (some overnight travel may be required).Our client offers a competitive compensation package including generous salary, performance bonus, car allowance, full benefits, paid CPA dues and professional development.RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Facilitate the production of weekly, monthly and year to date financial reporting including variance and trend analysis of results to forecast, budget and prior year
– Prepare monthly forecasts and annual business plans
– Complete month end closing for assigned locations including required accruals for revenue, payroll and expenses
– Prepare pricing models for business retention and new business bids ensuring reasonableness of financial assumptions
– Perform billing spreadsheet reviews ensuring accuracy and completeness of calculations to the contract
– Assist with internal, external and location level audit requests making recommendations for any corrective action needed
– Train and provide support to locations regarding accounting issues, policies and procedures
