OverviewThe Enterprise Risk Management department plays a critical role in supporting the management of key risks to the organization’s strategic priorities. Members of this team lead a risk-based approach that includes monitoring changes in the environment, engaging different areas of the business at all levels, and supporting how the organization addresses key areas of risk.We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Risk Specialist to work with senior business leaders to provide key support in the delivery of the Enterprise Risk Management and Fraud Risk Management programs.Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), as the Enterprise Risk Specialist you will utilize your strong background and experience in risk management to provide expertise in enterprise risk identification, assessment and control, and risk portfolio management. Your leadership and support will span various areas including development and application of risk frameworks, methodologies and tools; risk measurement, evaluation, reporting and communication; support for risk response; and risk knowledge management. You will have the opportunity to learn from others and identify solutions and recommendations for complex risk-based challenges.This is a hybrid position where you will primarily work from home and occasionally work on-site at the Richmond office.What you’ll doAs an enterprise risk specialist, you will:
- Proactively contribute to enterprise and fraud risk identification and profiling
- Coordinate and support risk assessments with business leads, identifying risk factors and controls/opportunities, and recommending feasible courses of action
- Lead the process for establishing risk classification, ranking and prioritization mechanisms through quantitative and qualitative assessments and the incorporation of additional relevant factors
- Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of frameworks for risk assessment and risk management, and technical solutions for managing risk-based knowledge
- Lead the development of risk and control reporting solutions
- Develop and maintain risk governance tools and templates
- Provide support in risk response, emerging risk incidents and information requests
- Plan and conduct regular fraud risk assessments
- Develop, update and deploy fraud related guidelines, processes and enterprise communication and training
- Contribute to investigations involving potential fraud, including preparing and providing data or reports
- Research emerging fraud trends and gaps and build strategies to address them, and stay current on the use of technology-based fraud detection tools
- Develop and present reports, data and recommendations to a wide range of audiences

- Proactively identify problems and opportunities, gather and analyze information using appropriate research, business intelligence and problem solving techniques, and use sound judgement when providing recommendations to achieve goals
- Develop and apply risk management framework, solutions, and mechanisms to support risk management controls and opportunities.
Your experience and educational background:
- A master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or Finance
- A minimum of three years of directly related experience in financial services or risk management
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered, including the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation or other risk management related designations.
