Job Description:We are looking for a passionate and experienced Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Specialist to join our sustainability team. The ESG Specialist will play a key role in developing, implementing, and managing our organization’s ESG initiatives and strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainability principles, corporate responsibility, and stakeholder engagement.Roles and Responsibilities:ESG Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement ESG strategies and goals aligned with corporate objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with senior management, departments, and external stakeholders to integrate ESG considerations into business practices.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and report on ESG performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) across environmental, social, and governance areas.
- Conduct benchmarking and trend analysis to assess performance relative to industry peers and best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with internal stakeholders (e.g., executives, departments) and external stakeholders (e.g., investors, regulators, NGOs) on ESG issues.
- Communicate ESG strategies, goals, and performance effectively to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and meetings.
ESG Reporting and Disclosure:
- Prepare ESG reports, disclosures, and submissions for regulatory filings, sustainability rankings, and voluntary reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Ensure transparency and accuracy of ESG information presented to stakeholders.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends related to ESG disclosure and reporting requirements.
- Identify and assess ESG risks and opportunities and collaborate with risk management teams to integrate ESG considerations into risk assessments.
Sustainability Initiatives:
- Support the development and implementation of specific sustainability initiatives and projects, such as energy efficiency programs, waste reduction strategies, and community engagement activities.
Training and Awareness:
- Provide training and guidance to employees on ESG principles, policies, and practices.
- Foster a culture of sustainability and corporate responsibility throughout the organization.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay informed about emerging ESG trends, frameworks, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in ESG performance through innovation and collaboration across departments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSR-P, ESG Analyst) preferred.
- X+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or related fields within a corporate, consulting, or NGO environment.
- Deep knowledge of ESG frameworks (e.g., UN SDGs, PRI, CDP) and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret ESG data and trends.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and drive consensus on ESG initiatives.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ESG/sustainability reporting software/tools.
