ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe Alliance Accounting Transformation Project Manager is a key position to bring together IEU, II, and IUS on Alliance financial and operational activities. The person in this role will be engaging with cross-function teams across the alliance to ensure collaboration, objectives are met, and decisions are implemented. The Alliance Accounting Transformation Project Manager will focus on revising the alliance agreement schedules and lead the rollout of changes including necessary training and support. The Alliance Accounting Transformation Project Manager will lead efforts to develop Alliance standardized reports, forms, and dashboards internally and at the Board. The Alliance Accounting Transformation Project Manager will continue to evaluate the effectiveness of processes across the Alliance and bring solutions for improvements and be the “doer” in making the necessary changes.LOGISTICSInternews has Headquarters offices in Washington, DC and London, UK which support a hybrid workforce with staff working remotely, fully in-office, or partially remote. - Coordinate and lead Alliance accounting team meetings within the Finance team (IUS and IEU) and other cross-functional teams to ensure collaboration, objectives are met, and decisions are implemented.
- Provide project management support for all Alliance initiatives across the organization, driving revision to the Alliance Agreement schedules.
- Implement financial and operational changes to the Alliance at the HQ, regional, and field levels, including coordination and communication with the relevant teams; demonstrate a high degree of accountability in setting and meeting ambitious targets.
- Serve as a key trainer to introduce Alliance changes and keep teams informed. This will include onboarding new staff and providing ongoing one-on-one and group training and coaching.
- Proactively work with teams to identify and resolve issues, escalating when necessary to work through obstacles and ensure the Alliance is successful.
- Responsible for all documentation of policies, procedures, processes, workflows, and/or user guides related to the operations of the Alliance. Also includes modifying, updating, or creating new ones as necessary.
- Create dashboards and develop financial analytics for the Alliance that can be used internally and for the Board and Board committee meetings.
- Continue to evaluate the effectiveness of the Alliance and bring solutions that will improve and streamline the function of the Alliance.

- 10 years of relevant professional experience, particularly with financial management and systems in complex environments.
- University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field OR equivalent lived/professional experience.
- Dynamic problem solver – comfortable challenging assumptions and offering solutions with incomplete information.
- Proven experience leading and managing project teams in a highly collaborative and fast-paced business environment.
- Transparent, open communicator – an exceptional listener who can read between the lines.
- Ability to balance competing interests and ensure all objectives are met on time.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with various teams.
- Able to establish and maintain productive, collaborative professional relationships with staff at all levels.
- Able to manage multiple and complex assignments with relative ease.
- Strong Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience.
- Good understanding of NGO business practices and procedures.
- Willingness and ability to travel within North America and Europe as required.

- Experience and knowledge of Internews’ finance and accounting policies, procedures, and best practices are a significant asset.

The annual salary range for this position is US $98,600 – US $128,200. Please note that this salary range applies to US-based candidates only.
