The Parts Data Specialist will be responsible for data cleansing, manipulation, transformation, and execution of Ontario Northland parts data sets into condensed formats. This role is responsible for performing data cleansing in the legacy system and data construction for the new Hexagon EAM system.MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as supply chain data Subject Matter Expert (SME) contributing knowledge regarding legacy system data, migration approach, and understanding of new system data requirements
- Work with team to develop data mapping from legacy system to new system
- Understand end-to-end data flows and data dependencies
- Analyze data to identify gaps, alert stakeholders about risk, and propose actions to act on the findings
- Work with group managers to help produce, organize and review data analytics, improving operational and management efficiencies
- Perform data migration audit, reconciliation and exception reporting
- Work with data collection team for weekly cadence, status reporting etc
- Consult with ONTC groups to gather input, feedback and ensure needs are met
- Perform audits, counts, location of slow moving inventories
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures, and Job Aids to support maintenance of data, and processes
- Development of the Parts Data Standards, as well as maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data definitions
- Work with Business Unit subject matter experts to identify additional data collection requirements
- Work closely with Information Technology team for data cleansing and data loads
- Maintain database locations, shared drives and files on our sharepoint site
- Involvement in EAM project meetings, training and outreach related to Data Cleansing activities, processes and applications
- Assist and train stores employees on use of tools, spreadsheets and documents used for data collection or naming conventions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in Business Management, Office Administration, Data Science and Analytics, Economics or combination of equivalent education and work experience
- 3-5 years’ of direct Supply Chain work and project experience
- Knowledge of EAM/CMMS (Centralized Maintenance Management Systems), ERP, reporting software products is preferred
- Experience in data cleansing, data construction and data collection
- Experience establishing and monitoring KPI’s
- Research, analytical and reasoning skills to assess and prepare a variety of reports
- Good operational knowledge in shipping & receiving, warehousing, operating warehousing equipment
- Knowledge of AS400 system is an asset
- Good knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with MS Excel functions and formulas including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, logic functions and filter/sorting
- Organizational skills; organizing large-volume files/databases and completing inventories
- Experience training employees in a shipping/receiving environment
- Excellent communication skills, self-starter with the ability to take initiative, and keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Commitment to health & safety
