Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Senior Manager, P&CB Financial Control will be responsible to ensure the accuracy of Personal & Commercial Banking Balance Sheet and its external reporting requirements.What you will do?
- Balance sheet analysis – review monthly balance sheet analysis to ensure both spot and average balances are booked accurately, and all significant variances are investigated and documented in a timely manner. Review consolidated commentary to support external reporting and management reporting.
- Lead strategic initiatives for Balance Sheet enhancement by eliminating and/or reducing manual processes and reclassifications to ensure accurate external reporting.
- Coordination of quarterly reporting requirements – act as primary contact with Financial and Regulatory Reporting to ensure all financial reporting requirements are met. Liaise and work with Product Control to ensure requirements can be met to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting.
- G/L Integrity – review of G/L to ensure balances are booked consistently and transactions are correctly classified on the balance sheet, ensuring asset and liability values are reported on proper section of the balance sheet as per IFRS standards including implementation of new accounting standards as required.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of the Canadian Banking GAA and RWA balances by line of business and investigate and provide explanations for any significant monthly fluctuations.
- Automation of reporting – create system-based reporting to allow for greater efficiency and accuracy of external reporting.
- Financial Instruments Standards – good understanding on accounting and disclosure requirements in accordance with IFRS.
- Special projects as assigned by senior management.
What you need to succeed?Must Have
- Strong finance/accounting background – CA or equivalent
- 5+ years senior financial/management reporting experience in a financial institution
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Excellent organization, analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and manage numerous priorities simultaneously.
