Job Description:Robert Half Accounting Contract is looking for a Capital Asset Financial Analyst to join a reputable educational facility located in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is a hybrid work schedule (1 day onsite/4 days remote) temporary to possible permanent opportunity.As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in managing and analyzing financial data to help guide the company’s financial decisions. You will be responsible for tracking capital asset additions, performing depreciation calculations, managing deferred capital accounting contributions, and handling various accounts receivable tasks. In addition, performing financial analysis on various projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Track capital asset additions and maintain accurate records.
- Perform depreciation calculations for various assets.
- Manage deferred capital accounting contributions.
- Handle non-student accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including renting out space, reimbursements, and one-off transactions.
- Prepare journal entries (JE) and perform reconciliations.
- Prepare and process invoices.
- Maintain general working papers, particularly related to prepaid expenses.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
- Financial analysis projects
Requirements:– Financial analysis & planning (go-to-market experience preferable)– Spreadsheet and ERP system experience suggested– Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)– Proficiency in asset accounting– Microsoft Excel experience highly desired– Budgeting experience desired– General familiarity with depreciation– Expertise in budget forecasting– Demonstrated knowledge of journal entries– Practical knowledge of Depreciation Schedule– Foundational knowledge in capital assets– Background working with Microsoft Great Plains Accounting– Fixed Asset Depreciation experience highly preferred– Adeptness in Adjusting Journal Entries– Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds– Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity– BA/BS degree in finance or a related field– Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)– Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools requiredIf you are interested in this exciting role, APPLY NOW!
