Role DescriptionThis position is the Head of the Credit Administration Group reporting to MD/JGM of Loan & Credit Administration Department. This position supervises, manages and guides Associates / Credit Analysts in the Credit Administration group. This position coordinates schedules and assigns all credit reviews and is also responsible for ensuring the timely completion of all credit reviews and applications.This position also performs the periodic credit review of customers. This includes the production of a credit application, credit review and credit grading. This position is responsible for the thorough and accurate analysis and assessment of the creditworthiness of the bank’s customers. Additionally this position, during the credit analysis process, reviews and ensures compliance with all covenants and terms and conditions of the credit and reviews all associated documentation and collateral.This position is responsible for employee / team management including hiring, conducting performance reviews, goal setting, absence management, maintaining team morale & discipline.Role Objectives: Delivery
- Supervise the day-to-day work of the Credit Analysts assigned to Credit Administration.
- Monitor and control various credit application/review schedules and procedures.
- Co-ordinate and assign renewal and/or review applications to each credit analyst in a timely manner.
- Provide support and guidance to other credit analysts, in terms of review guideline, policy, credit analysis and responds to Credit and Audit Departments requests and comments.
- Analyze borrowers’/potential borrower’s financial performance and compiles credit application and reviews.
- Investigate, research and discuss borrower requirements and transactions with deal administrators and account managers related to credit application.
- Co-ordinate with borrowers on financial reports and other specific requirements. Monitor financial performance of borrowers and special weak loans and initiates periodical reviews when necessary.
- Respond to relevant Credit Department’s pre-approved requests by investigating and assessing validity with respect to change in condition in a bilateral loan, to protect Bank’s position and preserve the credit quality.
- Co-ordinate CRVD audit, investigate and respond to Audit Department’s requests and comments.
- Provide support to BP team in application preparation and reports for assessing profitability of individual customers.
- Participates in Banker’s meeting, if required or teleconferences organized by borrower to offer credit information.
- Guide team members in researching on industries and peers information to enhance the analysis of the credits.
- Review and amend policy and procedure manuals on an annual basis.
- Write the annual performance evaluations of the Credit Analysts assigned to Credit Administration.
- To ensure that the employee is in full compliance with all Bank’s policies and procedures, including Anti-Money laundering policies, and the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies as communicated by SMBCC’s Compliance Department.
Role Objectives: InterpersonalInternal: Most Bank departments to exchange information, especially the Corporate Banking team.External: Customers to provide financial information or data.Supervision Responsibility: 4 Associate, 4 Credit AnalystQualifications & SkillsKnowledge: Undergrad degree or above (preferably in Business, Commerce, Accounting or equivalent).Experience: Minimum 8-10 years previous related corporate banking experience, working in a high pressure, deadline driven work environment. At least 3 years of experience in supervising and managing a team of credit analysts.Skills: Good interpersonal, strong organizational and communication skills.
