Individuals are required to monitor and verify trade flows through various source systems in a timely and precise manner in order to ensure accuracy for downstream stakeholders.As Associate, Trade Control, you will be accountable for providing day-to-day support for global derivative trading. This includes ensuring all transactions executed by the front office have been completely and accurately booked into the requisite applications. This role is an opportunity to learn about a wide array of derivatives and general Capital Markets processes.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.How You’ll SucceedTrade Verification – You’ll verify all trade details against blotters, broker confirms, external trading platforms, trade tickets and trader’s files, in accordance with accepted daily control procedures designed to detect errors and omissions in trade capture. You will need focused attention to detail when reviewing trade information in booking systems.Reporting – You’ll run daily reports associated with the Trade Control group as part of the groups control processes. You will need to have a strong organization system in place to keep track of daily controls for audit purposes.Reconciliation – You’ll reconcile trades between internal and external systems.Business Acumen – Must maintain a high level of knowledge of Capital Markets business products while partnering with peers to deliver timely results for numerous stakeholders. You share your knowledge and skills with junior team members and provide support when needed.Speedy Delivery – You’ll work within a challenging, fast paced environment where time pressures demand a rapid response to requests from the trading floor.Collaboration – You’ll act as the secondary point of contact and conduit for all internal departments, traders, and marketers for all trade control related matters. As needed, you’ll also participate in key initiatives and projects.Who You AreYou have undergraduate university degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Commerce or Accounting.You have 1-3 years of experience working in Financial Services or relevant experience. Prior experience working in Capital Markets, with derivatives and fixed income products – operational and settlement practices of bonds, swaps, options, futures, and foreign exchange is an asset.You are digitally savvy. You have intermediate Excel skills, and can reconcile large datasets from different sources. Experience working with MarkitWire, Bloomberg terminal, Wall Street Systems or Harmony is an asset.You’re motivated by collective success. You have a strong understanding of the division of major departments in a bank and the flow of information. You have a sense of urgency when responding to queries regarding trade details and discrepancies.Your influence makes a difference. You’re a strong communicator and can easily communicate with the back office, investigations officers, traders, marketers and middle office with regards to trade bookings and amendments.You know that details matter. You notice things others don’t. Your critical thinking and analytical skills help inform your decision making.
