As a Vehicle Workshop Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. An exciting opportunity to join a well-established contract, providing industry leading engineering and maintenance support to the London Fire Brigade. This role provides capability in adherence to meet our vehicle planned events schedule, which ultimately supports the whole of London’s firefighting capability and community.Day-to-day, you’ll focus on resource management, technical utilisation, workshop productivity, vehicle off road (VOR) reduction and health and safety policies and compliance.

  • Plan and progress work to ensure the effective use of both labour and equipment
  • Build effective relationships with key suppliers and internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervise the workforce teams with both technical and administrative responsibilities
  • Drive the delivery of the most effective maintenance solution in line with agreed service perimeters
  • Develop colleagues and processes to deliver optimum technical service

This role is full time, 41.5 hours per week and is based on site at Ruislip.Essential experience of the Vehicle Workshop Supervisor:

  • Experience in repair of HGV
  • Held a supervisory role in a LGV workshop environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate an historic background and knowledge of working in an LGV manufacturer or dealer in related business.

Qualifications for the Vehicle Workshop Supervisor:

  • IMI level 3
  • IRTEC or HNC related certification
