About the AgencyBackground and Context:
The National Council (NC) for the United Kingdom is a body that represents the interests of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims in terms of their economic, educational and physical wellbeing. The UK NC covers the UK and certain European countries, and guidance is obtained on these, and faith matters from His Highness, Karim Aga Khan. The Aga Khan has established Central Institutions to nurture the wellbeing of the Ismaili Community through paid and voluntary positions. More information regarding the Ismaili Community and His Highness can be obtained from .The Institutions and portfolios deal with the needs of Ismailis through programmatic activities but also through 1 to 1 casework. - Compose and submit regular written progress reports as well as verbal programme updates during meetings and calls
- Together with partners and team members, lead all aspects of case management related data tracking and management including Brighter Horizons case management related data.
- Develop, monitor and report on the annual budgets
- Coordinate, review and approve accounting reports and ensure financial integrity of the case management services, including financial assistance that is provided.
General Administration
- Assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all aspects of the services delivery model.
- Complete audits of cases and work with internal audit to evaluate the services delivery or programmatic activity
- Provide overall coordination of, day-to-day direction, professional expertise and support to caseworkers
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive matters relating to the Council and its operations and safeguard all documents, files and records.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time.
Professional Development
- Actively participate in Community of Practice (CoP) calls by cataloging and sharing knowledge, tools, insights and experiences for relevant programs.
- Raise issues and concerns regarding common needs and requirements.
- Continue to pursue learning related to professional case management protocols and best practice to share with larger team.
- Manage the development of paid and voluntary staff.
Professional Experience
- Professional with a minimum of 5 years of professional /management experience with a reputed organisation in the field of international development or other NGO (ideally in the area of case management)
- Successfully led the delivery of a large case management operations and worked with multi-functional project teams (or a mid-sized organization in a senior management position)
Skills and Attitudes
- Absolute discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information
- Goal-oriented, data-driven, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, supportive, and collaborative working relationships with internal team members and the leaders and members of stakeholder organisations
- Proven ability to lead and motivate professional and volunteer team members from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in writing actionable reports that build on input from multiple stakeholders, crafting proposals and related presentations, and developing other documentation
- Experience in setting, attaining, and/or measuring performance indicators and outcomes
- Experienced in Monitoring and Evaluation and service delivery or design-based thinking concepts
- Experience in preparing budgets, coordinating the preparation of annual audits
- Experience in working with databases and interpreting data
- Experience in strategic thinking and providing best practice guidelines
- Comfort with public speaking in front of small groups and wider audiences
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications
- Degree from a national or internationally recognized university, in a relevant field (Advanced Degree considered a strong Asset)
- Professional qualification in project management or similar considered a strong asset
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Must be able to have a flexible schedule in order to accommodate a non-traditional work week, including some evenings and weekends
The candidate must have the legal right to live and work in the UK.Please apply with a cover letter and CV by 18th August 2024.The positionThe Council for the UK is seeking to hire a Case Management Director for a fixed term consultancy period up to 12 months with the managerial, technical, and operational background to embed and manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a services delivery model. The Director will work with the Member for Quality of Life and the Central Institutions of the National Council to embed the processes, systems, and human resources required for a proactive, sustainable, and scaled approach to case management., including managing a centralised case management system. This also includes responsibility for Brighter Horizons (BH), one of the programmes of the National Council focusing on the objective of Poverty Elimination within the Community. BH takes a family mentoring approach to the development of families and employs a services delivery model, evaluating families in relation to domains of need.Reporting Relationships
The Case Management Director will initially report to the Member for Quality of Life until the services delivery model is in operation and thereafter will report to the Executive Officer of the National Council.The Case Management Director will be responsible for:
- Inbound enquiries – managing a team of volunteers to triage individuals’ needs and to direct them to the appropriate case manager that can support them
- Outbound enquiries – managing the same triage team to proactively & systematically call individuals and families that may need programme services and invite them to participate in programmes
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and outcomes of the service delivery against agreed metrics
- Ensure that case supervision is of a high quality and case workers/mentors are achieving impact outcomes
- Ensure that the caseworkers are accurately completing case notes, and data is being recorded as required for management information purposes and for monitoring and evaluation purposes
- Analysing the case management data to identify service delivery gaps and seek to work with a services delivery team to investigate the acquisition or integration of services.
- Liaise regularly with the Central Institutions to provide data for programme development, as recommended by the services delivery team.
- Manage paid staff in terms of performance and development
- Ensure all caseworkers are regularly assessed against the skills framework and training is developed to ensure the highest levels of services are provided
- Maintain a pipeline of recruitment for relevant caseworkers and ensure their training requirements are met.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders that refer cases to ensure they are updated and engaged.
- Regularly evaluating and reporting on program expenditure and impact
- Ensure that Case management services are marketed to the targeted case users through social, direct and channel marketing strategies
- Review funding strategies for the service and expansion of services to external groups.
- Ensure best practice methodologies and research as well as data is being used to verify recommendations
- Ensure the development and maintenance of Standard Operating procedures for all case management activity.
- Ensure that all caseworkers are aware of, and the services and systems are compliant with any relevant legislation, such as DBS, Safeguarding and Data protection
- Ensure financial assistance grants and donations are recorded accurately through appropriate systems and monitored.
- Advocate for funding for specific cases, as necessary. Engage with key stakeholders (including the national leadership, CFR Trustees and Central Office for Poverty Elimination, for reporting and engagement activities.
- Formalize relationships with national, regional, and local service providers to enhance delivery of the program.
