We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and positive reinforcement.Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality education and care to students with SEMH needs, ensuring each child receives personalized attention and guidance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development through mentoring and counseling.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and preparing learning materials.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEMH education.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of children.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
