As a 9 AF AFCENT Personnel Technician & Unit Program Coordinator, you will be part of United States Air Force Central Command (USAFCENT) which is the Air Force Service Component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a joint Department of Defense combatant command responsible for U.S. security interests in 27 nations that stretch from the Horn of Africa through the Persian Gulf region, into Central Asia.Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact for the United States Air Force and its clients at the Shaw AFB, South Carolina location. Our team has been recognized by the US Air Force as providing top quality services in support of the customers.In this 9 AF AFCENT Personnel Technician & Unit Program Coordinator role, you will:

  • Provide administrative and program management support to the AFCENT Chief of Staff. Specifically, this position is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and deposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence required by/for the AFCENT Chief of Staff Office.
  • Assist commander/director(s) in accomplishing all necessary internal operations to include administrative training, security, development of organizational operating instructions and regulations, and personnel assistance.
  • Assist with managing programs to include task management, Government Travel Card (GTC) program, drug demand reduction program, health care program, fitness program, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, safety program, Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accounts, Unit Deployment Manager (UDM), Special Awards & Trophies, security program, and supply program.
  • Serve as Point of Contact for all newly assigned personnel; orients them regarding the basic functions of the organization, introduces them to key personnel and schedules their initial training/orientation requirements.
  • Disseminate information concerning new or changed procedures/regulations.
  • Assist with determining and meeting administrative needs based on administrative support program requirements.
  • Instruct others on changes in administrative policies and procedures. Identifies and implements processes which can be improved or made more efficient through application of automated technology or other methods. Trains, orients, direct, and oversees the duties and work products of Directorate POCs.
  • Assist staff with setting suspense and/or prioritizing work for all staff personnel to support the commander/director.
  • Assist with conducting reviews and briefings on all facets of management functions with recommended courses of action for resolving problems.
  • Assist with ensuring unit programs comply with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives.
  • Advise the commander/director on policies and executes directives through the establishment of procedures for associated programs. Assists with ensuring assigned members are aware of individual requirements established by law and/or policy.
  • Monitor trends of programs and advises commander of their current evaluation ratings.
  • Attend required training, meetings, and functions as related to the prescribed unit programs.
  • Assist the commander/director in the performance of administrative functions associated with the supervision of military and civilian employees (i.e. coordinating personnel assignments, promotions, and performance evaluation products, etc.). Assists with providing evaluations and validation of manpower requirements and participant qualifications for operational/contingency planning and exercises.
  • Monitor personnel action requests, tracks personnel, manpower, and training transactions as documentation flows through the squadron and provides status reports to management.
  • Monitor the timeliness, accuracy and transmittal of performance reports in accordance with established guidelines. Coordinates with appropriate offices and resolves conflicts affecting organizational positions.
  • Assist with developing, establishing, updating, and maintaining office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff in the organization of administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements. Assists other clerical staff in locating and selecting the appropriate guidelines, references, and procedures for application to specific cases.
  • Update tracker or suspense files for unclassified documents as required.
  • Assist project officer in planning for command sponsored events ensuring proper protocol is followed.

QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An active Secret Security Clearance.
  • US Citizenship.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 6 years experience working military personnel requirements.
  • 4 years experience in Microsoft Office applications/email systems or the equivalent.
  • The ability to travel up to 10%.
