Results-based management is a management strategy by which all actors, contributing directly or indirectly to achieving a set of results, ensure that their processes, products and services contribute to the desired results (outputs, outcomes and higher level goals or impact) and use information and evidence on actual results to inform decision making on the design, resourcing and delivery of programmes and activities as well as for accountability and reportingThe SPU is the custodian of RBM as well as field and HQ level strategic planning and results-based reporting in UN Women. The SPU provides quality assurance on strategic planning and results reporting exercises at the corporate and field levels. It takes a collaborative approach to strategic planning and programmatic learning, creating space for innovation and enabling UN Women and its partners to be more effective, knowledge and data-driven, and driving higher quality UN Women programming. It is also charged with engagement on all planning inter-agency initiatives. SPU is also the leading unit as business owner for UN Women Results Management Systems (RMS) to support strategic planning and results-based monitoring and reporting processes, as well as data aggregation and analysis to communicate on results with stakeholders.Under the supervision of the Strategic Planning Specialist, the intern will support the ‘Data and System Workstream’, which oversees the development and maintenance of the RMS. The responsibilities of the intern will focus on supporting SPU’s in organizing and documenting consultations and meetings with business owners and end users and to support in the development and dissemination of technical and communication materials.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Meetings and Consultation Sessions:– Assist in planning and organizing technical meetings and consultation sessions focused on data integration, AI development, and RMS enhancements.
– Support scheduling events, developing agendas and presentations, organizing meetings, and taking notes.
– Clearly identify and document feedback and follow-up actions, prepare follow-up emails, and implement relevant actions.
Design and Development:– Assist in designing guidelines, learning materials, briefs, and other documentation related to data systems, AI applications.
– Contribute to the development and dissemination of knowledge products, including SharePoint articles, PowerPoint slides, and short videos, to enhance communications and visibility of system enhancements and end-user support.
System Maintenance and Updates:– Assist in maintaining and updating the RMS (Results Management System) page in SharePoint.
– Perform tasks related to system enhancements and RMS end-user support as necessary.
Learning Opportunities:– Gain hands-on experience in the areas of data policy, AI implementation, knowledge management, and business administration.
– Exposure to the operations of UN Women, contributing to the development and management of results management systems.

– Experience in conducting desk reviews and research would be an added advantage.
– Meet one of the following:
– Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
– Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
– Be enrolled in a mandatory national service programme of which the internship may form a part;
– Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within two-years of graduation.
Language:– Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required;
– Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.Renumeration:Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.Application Information:– All applicants must submit a completed and signed P.11 form with their application.
