If you have experience working with children who are diagnosed with Autism / ASC, Speech, Language and Communication Needs / SLCN, or Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs / SEMH then we have a rewarding role for youThis Merton based school provides a refurbished building both internally and externally to help provide good quality teaching and therapy spaces for students in Key Stage 2 / KS2, Key Stage 3 / KS3, and Key Stage 4 / KS4. This includes acoustic treatment to provide a calm and therapeutic environment, onsite Speech and Language therapists, Occupational Therapists, CAMHS, Music Therapy, and Lego Therapy. This school provides for children with a higher functioning Autistim Spectrum Disorder / ASD, with smaller classroom sizes of a maximum of 10 pupils.With an opportunity for KS4 students to take GCSEs and/ or Entry Level courses to help the children to progress further in their educational journey, dependent on their needs and abilities. The school are looking for an SEND Teaching Assistant that can help students to flourish in both a social and educational aspect. The goal is to help each student to become successful and confident, so you will be responsible for providing the support to allow this to continue. The school are looking for multiple applicants due to them expanding in SeptemberThe successful SEND Teaching Assistants will have:

  • Experience with SEND students as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  • Excellent classroom management
  • An NVQ Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification
