Who you are: As a Sales Coordinator for First Year Abroad and Gap programs, you will champion the lifechanging experience of studying abroad to students who are graduating or who have recently graduated from U.S. high schools. You will generate excitement for First Year Abroad and Gap programs. You will work closely with applicants and their families through the entire application and pre-departure process. You will manage your application pipeline, and strive towards student enrollment goals through timely, targeted outreach to students and parents. For First Year Abroad, you will also guide students to through their transition from First Year Abroad to their home university, which includes college matriculation, financial aid, and scholarship tasks.
You have an eye for detail to ensure students are adequately prepared for travel, while grounding your work in the overarching goals and outcomes of studying abroad. You enjoy talking to students and parents and working hard towards a sales goal.What you’ll do:
- Achieve aggressive sales targets for CIEE’s post-high school graduation portfolio including First Year Abroad and Gap.
- Complete a high volume of outbound calls daily to leads and applicants.
- Coach students and families through the application process, including matriculation and financial aid via the Academic Home/School of Record for First Year Abroad.
- Communicate with students and their families about application requirements, program acceptance, pre-departure preparedness, and offering frequent and timely updates.
- Provide pre-departure travel advising and give accurate information about how the First Year Abroad or Gap experience fits into students’ post-secondary academic journeys.
- Host webinars for students and families, presenting to large groups at a time.
- Represent CIEE at school and industry events, generating leads and converting them to open applications post-event.
- Review and accept student applications in a timely manner.
- Use the CRM system Salesforce to prioritize your enrollment pipeline and meet enrollment goals.
- Provide phone coverage for the department’s customer service line.
- Prepare and update pre-departure information, including readings and orientations.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated sales, customer service, or college admissions experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to navigate challenging conversations.
- Language skills in Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic are a plus.
- Experience working with diverse high school students is a plus.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Suite and a willingness to learn new applications are required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Flexibility to work some evening hours during heavy selling seasons.
- Knowledge of the education, travel, or work abroad industry is a bonus.
- Willingness to be a flexible team player, ready to jump in and do whatever it takes to get students prepared to travel.
