Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?The Manager, Reporting Insurance Finance will work closely with business partners to proactively develop and consistently improve upon the information needed to support the management of the RBC Insurance business. This role will contribute to monthly reporting; ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness and compliance with RBCI policies; while adapting to current needs of senior management; as well as providing proactive detailed analysis in explaining results and assisting in the forecasting process.What will you do?

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly journal entries, financial statements and reporting package requirements on a timely and accurate basis
  • Coordinate external auditor requests and documentation as pertaining to interim and yearend audits
  • Active involvement with research and implementation of new / changes in reporting requirements. This can include mockup of new Notes to financial statements, and other reporting changes
  • Drive process improvements including streamlining and increased accuracy using existing and new tools within your own deliverables as well as for the team
  • Work closely with other members of the Finance team to streamline and improve the RBC Insurance consolidated reporting process.
  • Contribute to a variety of ad hoc requests relating to actual, forecast, plan and strategy
  • Act as backup for other roles within the department when necessary

What do you need to succeed?Must-have

  • Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA: CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of financial services industry experience in progressive finance roles
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Windows based software with exceptional
  • Excel skills and experience across financial analytic systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of technical accounting tools such as Tableau
  • Client centric focus with strong initiative and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and balance conflicting priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of Insurance products and insurance accounting.
  • Experience with RBC financial systems and analytical tools.
