Job Description:We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of payroll processes across multiple countries. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain accurate records, handle accounting for payroll, and manage benefits in various regions.Key responsibilities:

  • Efficient and accurate processing of payroll across several countries including Canada, US, Australia, UK, Columbia, France, and Singapore.
  • Utilizing software systems such as Dayforce and ADP to handle payroll functions.
  • Ensuring accurate maintenance and updating of all customer credit records.
  • Resolving any payroll related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Overseeing the benefits administration for employees across all countries.
  • Handling the accounting side of payroll, including journal entries and bank reconciliations.
  • Using strong Excel skills to manage and automate payroll processes.
  • Learning and adapting to new payroll systems and processes as necessary.
  • Acting as a backup and support for other team members in their absence.
  • Continuously improving and streamlining the payroll process to increase efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
  • Experience with ADP – Financial Services
  • Familiarity with Ceridian software
  • Knowledge of IBM AS/400
  • Ability to use Kronos Timekeeping System
  • Familiarity with 401k – RRSP Administration
  • Experience with About Time software
  • Proficient in Accounting Functions
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.

Expected salary

$38 – 44 per hour
