Join our team to find a purpose-driven career, an inclusive culture, and robust benefits to support your life while you’re working to help others.Position overviewThe UK & Nordics Medical Manager at Exact Sciences works closely with Medical Director UK/I & Nordics and the International Headquarters to deliver medical affairs activities in those territories.The role crucially supports the cross functional UK & Nordics team by providing medical information/education through scientific exchange in a fair-balanced manner to healthcare professionals and medical thought leaders, initially in breast cancer with the potential to expand to other tumor types, as needed.The role will also include the support of R&D, RWE and ISTs in the development of genomic assays that lead to improved treatment decisions for oncology patients.This position requires professionals with established personal and scientific creditability to interact with thought leaders and centres of excellence.Essential DutiesInclude, but are not limited to, the following:
- Identify local national/regional thought leaders in breast cancer and develop/maintain scientific relationships with them (UK & Nordics focus).
- Support the delivery of the medical affairs strategy for the region. Generation of presentation materials for medical education events such as congress symposium, peer to peer meetings, workshops and forums
- Identify data gaps in clinical utility warranting further investment in studies executed through medical affairs; act as a contact for investigators interested in developing and performing studies with the company’s commercially available assays across the region.
- Deliver national/regional advisory boards when external advice is needed.
- Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions, as appropriate, in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings in both group and one-on-one situations.
- Develop and execute plans in alignment with regional plans of action.
- Assist in R&D initiated studies, as appropriate.
- Develop and facilitate RWE activities-supporting delivery of plan
- Provide scientific and medical updates/presentations in local reimbursement discussions.
- Coordinate and provide written publication expertise for manuscripts, abstracts and presentations
- Provide scientific support at medical congresses.
- Provide scientific support for appropriate educational initiatives.
- Deliver medical training and clinical updates to company stakeholders, as needed.
- Assure compliance with relevant corporate and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide feedback and medical input to local commercial plans and strategies.
- Provide input on the development of UK/Nordics-specific commercial materials.
- Strong team player capable of delivering high level and detailed information to the respective stakeholders in the regional team (Marketing, Access, Sales, Country Business Leads).
- The ability to travel as the business dictates, up to 30% of time.
Minimal qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Health Science (Medical Doctor or PhD is a plus).
- 3 to 5 years of industry experience (working in medical affairs – pharma/biotech/med tech).
- Therapeutic clinical experience desired.
- Expertise in Oncology. Experience in breast/GI/lung cancer is a plus.
- Extensive experience in managing KOLs
- Experience in relevant geographies a plus
- Excellent English mandatory.
