With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.Summary:AGAT Laboratories is hiring a Senior Accountant to be based out of our Calgary corporate office. The Senior Accountant is a critical position in our Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant is responsible for many aspects of the day-to-day Accounting operations, financial reporting and budgeting. This position is given direction from the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial and management analysis and reporting.
- Financial support and act as finance interface for other departments.
- Daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of journal entries and monthly G/L reconciliations.
- Revenue Projections.
- Review of A/P payments.
- Processing of GST/HST/QST filings.
- Preparation of budgets.
- Other tasks as reasonably expected.
Qualifications:
- CPA Designation or in final stages nearing completion.
- Degree or diploma in finance or accounting.
- Customer Service Experience as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, strong Excel, accounting and purchasing software experience required.
- 3 + years’ experience in an Accounting role.
- Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Ability to work independently. Planning, organization, analysis and decision making skills required.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
- Good problem solving skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
