  • Design and deliver high-quality history lessons that engage and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach A-level history.
  • Create a classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration, debate, and a deep understanding of historical events and themes.
  • Employ diverse teaching methods and resources to meet the varied needs of students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Assess student progress through various methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to aid their development.
  • Work collaboratively with the history department and other staff to enrich the history curriculum and integrate interdisciplinary approaches.
  • Lead and participate in extracurricular activities, such as history clubs, educational trips, and special history-related events, to enhance students’ learning.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience teaching history at the secondary school level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the history curriculum and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Enthusiastic about inspiring students to understand and appreciate the complexities of history.
