We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our Digital Production team as a Digital Production Assistant within our Academic and Professional Division. The successful candidate will work on our ground-breaking digital publishing products: These products include Bloomsbury Collections, Bloomsbury Fashion Central, and our Bloomsbury Professional platform, with new platforms planned across a range of subject areas such as architecture.This engaging role will offer an exciting first step in a publishing career and a huge opportunity to develop new skills while providing essential support to the Digital Production team during a period of rapid expansion.The roleMain responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out a Quality Assurance (QA) and uploading online content.
- Assisting in the the conversion of backlist titles to XML.
- Responsible for completing invoicing payments.
- Checking and preparing content for production.
- QA and uploading of updated legislation onto websites.
- Taking on adminsitrative tasks to ensure speedy publication of our content.
- Participation in any one-off projects where required.

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- XML knowledge is ideal but not essential.
- Meticulous and thorough approach with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong proof-reading skills.
- Clear communication skills.
- Able to build good relations inside and outside the immediate team and with our vendors.
- Show enthusiasm and drive to complete tasks.
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills.
Additional informationThe role is a full-time permanent position.Salary Pay Point: £27,000The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are Wednesday/Thursday.As an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live.
