Job description

This exciting Accounts Payable Specialist position will play a crucial role in maintaining the accounts payable function for a leading law firm, based in West-End London.

  • Processing and approving invoices ensuring correct coding
  • Monitoring disbursements, posting to specific matters on the portal and processing payments
  • Processing and paying referral fees.
  • Approving office payment requests (disbursements)
  • Reconcile Counsel Fees as per what is posted to the ledger.
  • Performing payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds
  • Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, handling and resolving queries
  • Reconciling staff expenses
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciling accounts payable transactions, preparing accruals.
  • Supporting and training junior staff, including overseeing and correcting work where required
  • Ad hoc reporting on accounts payable
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.

Hybrid working |Permanent contract

  • Strong accounts payable experience
  • Previous experience overseeing / supporting junior team members
  • Experience using accounting systems (chrome river highly desirable)
  • Strong, demonstrable excel skills
  • Experience working in a law firm is highly desirable but not essential
  • Ability to hit the ground running, learning new processes quickly
  • Ability to recognise opportunities for process/systems improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
