Applies complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Market Business Service under RBC Capital Markets is looking to hire a Trade Support Analyst to join its Canadian Mortgage Investment group (CMIG) in Capital Market, Market Business Service. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to provide operational support to Mortgage and MBS activities, settlements and reconciliations in order to provide high quality operational support.What will you do?As part of our daily support to the Mortgage trading business, approve assigned service providers’ files uploaded from shared drive into the Mortgage Hub (mHUB) systemAs part of NHA program, coordinate the CMHC form handling and loan securitization process to ensure securitization process is completed in a timely mannerPromptly resolve issues related to Mortgage daily settlements.Investigate and resolve 3-way-reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner. Reconcile Journal Posting position to system generated Activity Summary report for un-securitized Mortgages positions to Servicers’ report.Continually cross-train on the mHUB system and Mortgage desk tasks to maintain 3-person-deep coverage.Review daily and monthly GL (General Ledger) reconciliation results performed by CMRG (Capital Markets Reconciliation Group) to ensure all discrepancies for positions/balances in various processing systems are thoroughly investigated and resolved.Complete monthly GL accounts attestation within the prescribed deadlines.As necessary, prepare respective SLIM/eGL accounting entries for all Infinity/Murex book-runners.Ensure desk procedures, controls and best practices are current and well documented. As required, participate in user acceptance testing for new products and system improvements.Must-haveBachelor’s Degree or equivalent (BBA / BComm / BMath / BSc) with 2 years experiences in financial industryHigh degree of accuracy, attention to detail; ability to learn quickly and problem solve.Work effectively and reliably under pressure with minimal supervision; team player.Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.Solid PC (Microsoft Excel, Word) and analytical skillsNice-to-haveKnowledge of Mortgage Securitization processExperience/working knowledge of Mortgages/MBS & derivatives products and processing proceduresWorking knowledge of various Systems: MHUB, Slim, People Soft, Infinity/Murex, OBI, IRIS etc.Working to Intermediate knowledge of some programming languages such as VBA, SQL, etc.What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
