Unlock your potential at St. Mark’s Hospital!Job Summary and QualificationsAs a highly-skilled Circulating Nurse in the OR you will provide excellent patient care to individuals during operative and invasive procedures. Under the direction of the OR Manager you will work with other members of the team to ensure the operating room is adequately prepared for procedures. Our team works hard to support each other, we are looking for an amazing nurse who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.In our unit:
- We have 15 ORs and complete about 1000 cases per month.
- We have 11 surgical robots and just completed our 10,000th robotic surgery.
- We are known for specializing in CVOR and are open to training those interested in this area.

In this role:
- You will be able to perform general nursing duties and be competent in all OR procedures as verified by specific competencies.
- You will demonstrate the ability to facilitate smooth and efficient room turnover and patient flow.
- You will complete all paperwork and computer charting to ensure accurate and timely charting and patient charges occur.
- You will rely on previous experience to anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.
- You will ensure Pre-op Checklist is complete (H&P present, informed consent signed, test results present, etc.) before patient is taken into surgical suite.
- You will be consistently ready and prepared for assigned cases.
- You will appropriately responds to the patient in an emergency or physically distressful situation.
- You will facilitate communications between patient, surgeon, and OR staff and family and other departments as needed.
- You will give a thorough report of patient’s intraoperative condition to PACU nurse.
- You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures
- You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Current State of Utah Registered Nurse License.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 30 days of hire.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hire.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification within 6 months of hire.
- One or more years of OR experience required
