We are offering an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist in the Food Manufacturing industry, based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The HR Generalist will be responsible for implementing various human resources programs, with a broad range of tasks such as organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and leaves, and crafting HR policies.Responsibilities:

  • Administer compensation and benefit plans
  • Play an integral role in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conduct employee onboarding and organize training & development initiatives
  • Provide support to employees on various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation, resolving any issues that may arise
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Undertake tasks related to performance management
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, such as time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
  • Maintain employee files and records in both electronic and paper form
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits, and organizing team building activities
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Proficiency in HR Compliance and HR Policy development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration.
  • Proven skills in conducting interviews and managing new employee orientation.
  • Experience with onboarding processes, performance reviews, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with employee terminations and the legal aspects surrounding this process.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing training and development programs.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., CHRP) is a plus.
