We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team in the Construction industry located in Hanover, Ontario. The role will involve various duties including Accounts Payable, payroll clerk and timesheet verification, maintaining accurate records, and resolving customer inquiries in a small construction office environment. This job offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable tasks, including the processing of invoices and setting up purchase orders when required.
  • Handle data entry tasks, including entering time in the Time Management System and maintaining spreadsheets.
  • Review and verify all timesheets are submitted and entered correctly for biweekly payroll for 0-50 employees
  • Assist with the setup of new vendors in Oracle.
  • Work on production reporting and other duties such as updating spreadsheets for daily production and fuel usage reporting.
  • Upload processed data into Oracle for further processing.
  • Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on account status
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the Construction industry
  • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes
  • Strong Data Entry skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and speed
  • Experience in Invoice Processing, ensuring all invoices are processed in a timely manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create spreadsheets, charts, and use formulas effectively
  • Familiarity with Oracle software, specifically for accounting and financial purposes
  • Experience with Employee Timesheets, including tracking, validating, and processing for payroll purposes
  • Must have strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively communicate with team members and management
  • Must have strong attention to detail, ensuring all financial records are kept accurately and effectively
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving any accounting discrepancies or irregularities.
