Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Business Unit Controller to join our team in in the Niagara region. This role operates within the finance department and involves playing a central role in financial operations, planning, and strategy. As a Business Unit Controller, you will provide financial insights and risk management strategies to support the unit’s operations and growth initiatives. Reporting to the President, you will be responsible for consolidating the financial results for over 50 plants across the globe. You will analyze financial results and investigate variances and anomalies. On a monthly basis, you will report the financial reports to the Senior Leadership Team. This role is 100% onsite.To be considered for the position of Business Unit Controller, you must be a CPA with 7+ years of relevant work experience. You should have exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills. In this role, you will utilize your strong business acumen to analyze financial results and present them to the SLT. Given the high profile of this position within the organization, you must have superior verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting to all levels of management and the Board of Directors on a regular basis.Requirements:Responsibilities:

  • Compile and interpret monthly financial reports, providing commentary and variance analysis to leadership.
  • Oversee financial operations within the business unit, ensuring all accounting functions are performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Formulate and implement financial plans and strategies that align with the business unit’s overall strategy.
  • Identify potential financial risks and devise appropriate risk management strategies.
  • Utilize financial expertise to support growth initiatives and provide insights to the Business Unit President and Regional Coordinators.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and present findings and recommendations to business unit leadership.
  • Review annual audits of subsidiaries and provide executive summaries on findings.
  • Collaborate with corporate finance teams to shape company-wide financial strategy and decisions.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in the financial management of the business unit.

Requirements:

  • CPA designation
  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong business acument
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Expected salary

$120000 – 130000 per year
