This will involve a strategic evaluation and transformation of the current frameworks to ensure they are aligned with the latest industry standards and best practices. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing innovative solutions that will optimize resource distribution and enhance accountability across the organization. The successful candidate will lead the initiative to develop and deploy new allocation models that are transparent, equitable, and supportive of the company’s strategic objectives. They will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including senior leaders across Finance and the Functional Group organization to integrate these systems and processes into the broader financial and operational infrastructure, ensuring a seamless transition and sustained improvement in expense management.This role is pivotal in achieving a leaner operational model, ensuring that resources are utilized judiciously and contribute to the financial agility of the organization. The successful candidate will spearhead the development of transparent allocation models that support strategic decision-making and foster a culture of cost-effectiveness and sustainable growth.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How you’ll succeedAnalysis – Lead analysis to assess current state and develop recommendations across Finance and Functional Groups for modernized methodologies and processes to allocate infrastructure costs and identify implications to support key decisions. The initial focus will involve a comprehensive overhaul of systems/processes to manage and allocate over $1 billion in technology expenses.Methodology and Process Optimization – Streamline existing methodologies and introduce innovative processes for efficient resource utilization.Financial Agility and Transparency – Develop transparent allocation models and reporting to enhance financial agility and support strategic decision-making.Collaboration with Stakeholders – Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new systems/processes and sustained improvement in expense management. Contribute to and collaborate with the Finance Modernization workstream working closely with the program team to ensure any developments are compatible with the overall programCost-Effectiveness – Foster a culture of cost-effectiveness and sustainable growth through improved expense allocation practices.Leadership – Provide a leading voice and recommended solutions in design of future requirements for performance management and expense attribution, including ongoing maintenance and regular review of revised planning and reporting cycles; align key stakeholders to ensure future process enhancement. Aid infrastructure and business unit CFOs in efficient resolution of escalations and build increased structure around reporting and reviews. Contribute to projects and other ad hoc initiatives related to Enterprise EfficiencyWho you areYou can demonstrate advanced knowledge of the practices, procedures, and principles in the field of finance including accounting, planning, capital budgeting, investment and reporting principles and practices sufficient to interpret and analyze high-level complex concepts and apply these in unique ways. You have a proven track record of ‘thinking outside the box’ and experience in process redesign to tackle complex challenges. You also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to organize and manipulate large volumes of data to draw meaningful conclusions. It’s an asset if you have programming and technical skills, particularly proficiency in tools like Alteryx, Microsoft Power Platform/Dataverse and database design.You give meaning to data.
