Our client offers expertise in Asset Management. Planning, Structuring & Trust, and providing a unique blend of global capability and personal service. They are looking for a highly motivated individual to join their team.The Operations Associate will assist in day-to-day responsibilities within the operations team. This includes the reconciliation of cash daily to ensure the custodian’s records are correct and all cash payments are allocated to the appropriate client.Responsibilities:
Reconciliation of Cash between Custodian and Internal Database

  • Perform daily matching of cash balances between custodian accounts and internal database.
  • Instruct custodian to move cash to/from bank account daily.
  • Provide comprehensive explanations for all outages.
  • Allocate dividends, interest, and other income, process corporate actions.
  • Collaborate with other operations employees, trading department, and custodian operations employees to resolve outages.
  • Submit cash reconciliation reports to custodian auditors monthly.

Support Trade Settlements

  • Understand trade cycle and market regulation.
  • Work with brokers and custodians to resolve unmatched trades.
  • Monitor failed report and resolve failing trades swiftly.

Cash Holdings Reconciliation

  • Reconcile holdings between custodian and internal database monthly.
  • Perform daily reconciliations, identify outages, and correct as necessary.

Tax

  • Prepare and audit tax packages.
  • Proof data, prepare, and audit T3, T5, T5008, and NR4 forms.
  • Review and remit non-resident withholding taxes monthly.
  • Manage CRS/FATCA reporting and maintenance.
  • Review and analyze tax impact on private investments.
  • Allocate T5013 and perform cost reviews.
  • Maintain and reconcile error accounts.

  • Strong Excel skills and a good understanding of IT solutions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate problems and solutions effectively.
  • General understanding of the investment operations environment.

Credentials and Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree, with a post-secondary education in accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the finance industry.
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) preferred.
