Job Description:About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer (Management Accounts) to join our team in Oldham on a full time, fixed term basis for 6 months. Hybrid working opportunities are available.Reporting to the Finance Partner – Asset Management, you will ensure monthly financial processes and procedures are completed to provide accurate and timely management accounts information.Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Assistant Accountant and Finance Partner
  • Support in the production of the monthly management accounts.
  • Review, calculate and post accruals and adjustment journals.
  • Assist in running reports and providing information for budget holders and provide analysis of variances to budget/forecast.
  • Exercise internal controls, highlight errors and take action to rectify them where necessary.
  • Provide support with annual budget setting and quarterly/monthly forecasting.

We’re a customer-focused organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You’ll not only be an experienced Finance Officer, but you’ll also have great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.You’ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • Good working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience of calculating and posting accruals and adjustment journals.
  • Experience of producing financial reports and related information for budget holders.
  • Experience of month end financial processes.
  • Good understanding of internal financial controls.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Essential qualifications

  • AAT or part qualified CCAB
