Job SummaryJob DescriptionWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?As part of the ESG Risk team within Group Risk Management, the Associate Director, ESG Risk Integration, will support the development, implementation, evolution, and communication of our approach to integrate ESG risk into existing risk management processes. ESG risk is a transverse risk, that is complex and dynamic, providing the Associate Director with the opportunity to support the design, evolution and implementation of processes that will manage ESG Risk. This role is integral in developing and enhancing the ESG risk management capabilities and meeting regulatory expectations. The Associate Director will apply experience with risk management, governance, and controls to enable the development of recommendations that support the organization’s objective to manage ESG risk.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Support the design, implementation and evolution of embedding ESG risk into RBC’s existing risk management framework, policies, tools, and risk appetite/limitsCollaborate with the business and global GRM colleagues to coordinate and align our approach to integrating ESG risk; support the development of a governance process and our capability in identifying, managing, and overseeing ESG risks across jurisdictions.Keep abreast of evolving regulatory requirements, stakeholder expectations, current best practices in relation to risk integration and governance for ESG risk and communicate these two teams throughout RBCSupport the preparation of material for internal management reports and presentations for GRM senior management and others related to the integration of ESG risk into enterprise risk management and business practices.WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must Haves5+ years of related experience with in-depth knowledge in any of the following disciplines: risk management, , compliance or sustainabilityMBA, CPA-CA/CMA, CFA or other finance/accounting/risk management certificateSound knowledge of internal controls, risk management and/or compliance methodologiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics effectively to external stakeholders and internal executives and reviewers (e.g. legal, finance, audit).A proactive self-starting mindset who is able to handle pressure effectively, collaborate effectively with individuals and teams across the enterprise, and has experience working with senior management teams.Able to manage ambiguity and develop structured approaches to complex and evolving issues and trends.Nice to HavesWorking experiences in data visualization tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau)Sound knowledge of RBC’s business lines and activities, as well as our E&S commitments, strategies, disclosure requirements and regulatory environmentPrevious experience in process innovation, development and improvement in reportingWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
