The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Analyst will form an integral part of the IDI project teams, driving the design and implementation of the M&E strategy across all program portfolios and activities. Reporting to the Director IDI, the M&E Analyst will work alongside and collaborate with the Senior Advisor-Research, Evaluation & Learning and project teams in Canada and internationally to support and provide oversight to carry out the M&E components of projects. The position will develop and implement monitoring frameworks of IDI’s projects, provide effective support to teams and partners on monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning. The M&E Analyst will collaborate with IDI colleagues in the implementation of strategic, creative, and participatory solutions for learning, reporting, and sharing with internal and with external stakeholders. The position will also support the learning frameworks for programs, making contributions to business development and reporting cycles to ensure the continual iteration of program design and implementation in alignment with learning and best practices.The M&E Analyst will be responsible for:
- Design, plan and implement monitoring, evaluation and learning plans with project implementation staff and partner organizations with input from the Senior Advisor-Research, Evaluation & Learning.
- Co-facilitate the establishment, maintenance and management of a comprehensive and effective M&E system that reflects Humber IDI’s principles and values, including gender equality.
- Co-write M&E section of future project proposals.
- Ensure the alignment of M&E activities with project goals.
- Collaborate with the Senior Advisor-Research, Evaluation & Learning in the development and dissemination of key learnings based on M&E and research results.
QualificationsWhat you bring to the role:EducationBachelor’s Degree in Social SciencesSpecialized training in international development and Monitoring and evaluation required.Experience & SkillsMinimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a project environment or working for an International NGO.
- Authoritative application of technical and managerial bodies of knowledge. Experience is broad and deep, and application of the experience produces new and creative approaches and solutions. Understanding of working with grants or contribution agreements from donors.
- Experience in planning, designing and implementing rigorous and gender sensitive monitoring and evaluation systems to assure achievement and progress towards project objectives and outcomes. Candidate must be able to closely work and coordinate with multi-cultural team members. They will manage or co-manage internal and external program/project evaluations as necessary and collaborate in the coordination of the planning and execution of baseline, midline, endline assessments, and final evaluations. Candidate must have an ability to use M&E software like Kinaki. They will implement training and coaching for field office staff to fully understand and promote accountability in general. Lastly, they will work with the implementation teams for organizational learning including use of guidelines, tools, and methods for identifying, documenting, consolidating, and disseminating learning and good practices in IDI’s thematic areas for purpose of effective programming and advocacy.
