Job description
TP Tutors are specialists in providing 1-1 tuition for young people who are not in education. We have an urgent need for tutors in Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas.These pupils have a range of needs including:
- SEND needs – such as Autism and learning difficulties
- Children in Care – needing catch up tuition due to missing chunks of school or being out of education
- School refusers
- SEMH needs – varying from anxiety to severe mental health needs
- Asylum Seekers
- Pupils who have been excluded from school
We are looking for compassionate and patient teachers who are either retired and looking to work part time, or teachers looking to use their skills outside of the classroom environment to make a difference for children in the local area. Our tuition is mostly 1:1 and is in the young person’s home, this is due to the children we work with mostly being out of education. Our support varies from 5 hours to 10 hours a week and we can offer full or part time work.As a 1-1 tutor you will provide support in any of the following areas: English, Maths, Life Skills and preparing to transition back to school.Skills required:
- Ideally you will be a qualified teacher with QTS or a similar qualification
- Or you will be an experienced tutor
- Confident planning and preparing lessons and resources
- Resilience
- Patience
- Compassion and understanding of different families backgrounds and their needs.

Children may be in a mainstream setting, special educational needs or alternate provision setting or without a school place and fall under the local authority awaiting a suitable school place.Bespoke online reporting platform- 24/7 access to enable you to log immediate attendance details, feedback and assessments.Online classroom platform- to enable you to deliver online tuition to students in a virtual environment. This platform offers all the tools you will require to deliver online tuition and is recorded for safeguarding purposes and for revision purposes.Hourly rate of £25- £30 which is paid weeklyAccess to free safeguarding and CPD courses as well as free access to assessment tools and resources.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
