Job Summary The BCS Technology group under RBC Capital Markets Quantitative and Technical Solutions is responsible for building and managing business focused solutions that optimize efficiency, enable process automation and improve audit and compliance.As a Business System Analyst, you will be responsible for overall business requirements, stakeholder management, application demos, app validations, and coordinating with other teams. The role offers many opportunities to learn and grow as you work within this fast-paced portfolio in support of several business functions (trading and settlement for FX, Money Market, and Securities). You will engage with stakeholders to comprehend, discover, and document their business needs and opportunities. You will partner with the Development team to shape and fulfill these asks and initiatives.The candidate would identify and document business requirements to enable the development of new and upgraded functionality for RBC Capital Markets back office related applications for payments processing and SWIFT messaging (as it relates to FX, Money Market and Securities trading and settlement activities).The candidate shall liaise with back, middle and front office personnel as required to fully address all related processes and risk issues.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Understand existing application flows, system architecture, upstream/downstream integrations, and business rulesOwn requirements capture, documentation, requirement and app reviews and coordination of sign-offs by various Business and IT teamsEnsure traceability and coverage to all functional business requirements during the QA cyclesEffectively challenge the business to ensure that we are developing solutions that are scalable, maintainable, aim for zero technical debt, and that help mitigate business risks and create efficienciesResponsible to create user stories in JIRA, update user stories with the technical specs, participate in refinement sessions, providing guidance on the delivery sequence of the user stories, ensuring that stories are aligned to the proper epics and track subtasks as well as tasks, leading or participating in demosCoordinate with Business and Development team for delivery, requirements clarifications, analysis, impact assessment and create required documentation – user stories, workflow diagrams, mockups, system specifications, RAID logs, traceability matrix, non-functional requirements, user manuals, support document, etc.Support PM as needed for managing medium to large size initiatives for tracking, delivery, project reporting and identifying and managing issues and risks for successful delivery within committed budgetsIndependently manage business and IT stakeholders, drive project meetings. Be hands on with application functionality and perform validation of delivery to business for ensuring scope elements are delivered as per the planContribute to ongoing administrative program, reporting, estimation and other activities as required; Train users in any new functionality, provide support to back office personnel during the UAT phase and assist PM in monitoring user testing to ensure all issues are resolved prior to new functionality being distributed to the production environmentWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must HaveSolid knowledge of payments processing as it relates to support systems for FX, Money Market and Securities trading and settlement activities, with particular emphasis on system development requirements.Solid knowledge of FX back-office functionalities as it relates to confirmations, CLS, netting, exceptions handling, accounting and market dataSolid knowledge of SWIFT and SWIFT messagingDemonstrated ability in written, oral and presentation skills, analytical skills, problem solving and reporting skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and the project and having a self-drive and disciple to execute the same on time; Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.A good understanding financial services industry with ability to understand new business processes and technology quicklyDeadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.Tools: HP ALM, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS SQLUndergraduate degree with 5+ years’ of experience working as a BA/BSA on concurrent initiatives in a fast paced, collaborative environmentNice to haveFamiliarity with ISO 20022 – a global and open standard for payments messagingFamiliarity with SQL, reading and basic write skillsDemonstrated project management skillsStrategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businessesDevelopment experience building business solutions or application migrationsFamiliar with concepts of data modelling and system configuration.
