You will work directly with leaders who believe in celebrating successes and sharing learnings with other teams to promote progress.The Business Analyst will be based in Toronto, working mainly with Finance to analyze, understand, translate and document Finance requirements into business and functional specifications for IT Development teamWhat will you do?Lead the analysis effort on multiple initiatives impacting the EPM application.Develop effort estimates for analysis and requirements activities including BRD preparation and Functional Interface specifications.Drive requirements discovery and elicitation from Finance and stakeholders from backlog of internal and external requests.Plan and Lead requirement discussions, capturing data and business rules requirements.Pro-actively communicate and collaborate with Finance and business line clients to analyze functional requirements and deliver the appropriate documentation and explanationsWork with project managers, developers, quality engineers and other business analysts, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.Identify relevant upstream and downstream dependencies and follow up with stakeholders for input or sign-offs on a timely basis.Provide hands-on support during various cycles of testing including Functional Testing, Quality Assurance, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.Ensure that testing, configuration/release management, deployment, and post implementation verification are completed in desired timelinesInvestigate data gaps / issues raised by FinanceActively contribute to process re-engineering and process improvementsWhat do you need to succeed?Must Have:At least 3 years of experience in Financial or Regulatory Reporting with a focus on delivering both large-scale programs and product enhancementsUnderstanding of finance, including the role of the subledger and the financial control closing processes.Self-starter with the ability to break down assignments and follow through with minimal guidance.Strong Problem Solving and Analytical Skills.Strong Data Analysis and Data Manipulation Skills.Strong GAP Analysis and Data Reconciliation SkillsStrong attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality product (low re-work/errors).Strong Business Analysis skills – elicitation, synthesis, evaluation and communication of results.Strong communication skills – the ability to write clearly; know your audience; one on one verbal communications; the ability to give presentations and run a meeting is critical.Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools including ExcelExperience working on cross-business and technology data programs.Proficient experience with Software Development LifeCycle process, Agile, Iterative Waterfall and IT terms and methods.Ability to collaborate effectively with various business and technical teams, including offshore.Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and leadership abilities to lead integrated teams in project activities.Experience using business analysis and requirements modeling tools, such as data flow diagrams, relationship data models and business process modelling.Ability to understand the business requirements and translate it to technical requirementsProvide hands-on support during various cycles of testing including Functional Testing, Quality Assurance, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
