Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitWhat You’ll Be DoingAs a member of the Enterprise Strategy and Corporate Development team, you will be focused on assisting with management of CIBC’s portfolio of direct investments and fund investments which will include a full spectrum of the planning, monitoring and investment portfolio management activities and administration.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 designated days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How You’ll SucceedCoordination – Lead coordination required to complete various attestations, surveys and reports for legal and regulatory matters and as required to comply with internal policies. Lead work required to update various guidelines, policies and procedures maintained by the group.Reviews – Complete the initial review of capital call notices for fund investments relative to the terms of our investment documentation to inform whether or not we should approve funding and lead any necessary follow-up as required with internal and external stakeholders. Take the lead in reviewing and assessing requests for amendments related to existing fund investments and preparing documentation required to seek internal approvals for amendments.Governance – Assist with the ongoing development and execution of improvements to governance practices for investments.Reporting and Analysis – Support the ongoing development and execution of various reporting of investments to key internal stakeholders on a quarterly, annual and ad-hoc basis. Prepare materials and perform analysis to drive insights and inform decisions for delivery to senior leaders.Records Management – Be the day-to-day lead for records management (records identification, destruction, preservation notices) and assisting with ongoing compliance of requirements.Ad Hoc Work – Assist with other work being done by the team, including compiling precedent documents for members of S&CD team, conducting industry and company research, preparing presentations or memos, and providing project management support.Who You AreYou have an undergraduate degree or diploma in Finance, Business, Accounting, Law or other related field. You have demonstrated a high proficiency using Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) to perform analysis, drive insights, and inform decisions.You have a year or more relevant experience at a pension, private equity or venture capital fund, asset management, financial institution, accounting or law firm. You also employ a solutions-orientation, resourcefulness and ability to quickly learn to advance key initiatives and deliver high quality work in a timely manner.You give meaning to data.
