This role collaborates with SAP Payroll Support team,Total Rewards COE, IT&S and other business areas to drive continuous improvement in payroll processes and delivery.Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Lead and drive the payroll function across the organization. Incorporating a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Oversees the execution of all activities related to payroll and time processes, adherence to established controls and ensuring compliance legislative requirements
  • Partners with the Global HR Technology Team, Total Rewards COE, Employee Wellbeing Solutions, and other relevant groups to identify and implement solutions to improve/enhance payroll delivery
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s), ensuring established SLA’s are met or exceeded
  • Engage in regular communication and build strong relationships to ensure effective delivery of shared services
  • Monitors and ensures the accurate and timely administration, remittance and reporting of payroll related activities
  • Assist with external and internal (SOX) regulatory governance and requirements
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on all aspects of payroll, resolves escalated or high risk issues or concerns as required
  • Drive and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team and within the Operations group, with a focus on transferring learnings and opportunities across the department and leveraging other solutions to enhance efficiency
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations within his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary Degree in Accounting or Business or related field
  • PLP or PCP Designation from the National Payroll Institute. Completed or in progress
  • Significant experience in payroll or related field
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle/PeopleSoft or other large ERP HCM systems
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Bank policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of Organizational structure and complexity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven supervisory/leadership experience
  • Strong analytical skills
