Position SummaryMagellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer.
- Full Time Permanent Contract
- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm / Friday 7:30am – 1:30pm
- Job location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RP
- Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
Responsible for all aspects of the relevant QA/QC processes and deputise for the Quality Manager and Senior Quality Engineer in their absence. To support internal and external audits as well as liaising with external customers as required. Will provide training and development support within the team and the Division.Perks and Benefits

Essential Responsibilities
- Support the MRB process and ensure timely disposition with support form all relevant functions
- Support the internal audit programme and support both 2nd and 3rd Party audits/visits
- Support the Quality Manager and Senior Quality Engineer in producing relevant reports and the monthly business review process
- Actively support the development of the Quality Team and train the team in all aspects of Quality Management including but not limited to:
- FAI
- Inspection, CMM operation
- Control of non-conformances
- Calibration
- Stamp Control
- Support the development of the structured Problem Solving process
- Deputise for the Quality Manager and Senior Quality Engineer where required
- Support the customer complaints management process
- Support the Supplier Management process
- Work with a minimum amount of supervision and maintain good levels of productivity
- Work in a safe manner in compliance with company Health & Safety policy. Report and log Health & Safety incidents that occur
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by management in support of the business
Skills / Knowledge RequirementsAcademic:
- Relevant QA toolbox qualifications
Professional Accreditations:
- Internal auditor (AS9100, IS09001)
- Practical Problem Solving (A3/G8D)
- Exposure to Lean principles
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position within a regulated industry such as Aerospace, Automotive or similar
Key Competencies:
- Numerate, literate, Microsoft Package
- Inspection
- Effective communication at all levels of a business.
