As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive learning environment by supervising classes during teacher absences. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the education sector or those who are considering a career in teaching.Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Ensure that students remain on task and complete assigned work.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Manage student behaviour effectively, ensuring adherence to school policies.
  • Provide support to students as needed, helping them understand their assignments.
  • Report any issues or concerns regarding student behaviour or academic performance to relevant staff members.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and classroom management.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school environments.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
