Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?Here we grow again! Cyber Technology Service Operations within RBC’s Global Cyber Security is seeking to add an experienced leader to the team.As Senior Manager, Network Security Operations, you will be providing active support leading a team to deliver superior levels of organizational and technical expertise necessary for the successful implementation, maintenance and support of RBC’s critical global security infrastructure platforms and services. The primary responsibilities of this role is to provide second level technical support in network security, resolve compliance issues, and deliver infrastructure upgrades to ensure stability across the global RBC security stack.What will you do?

  • Respond to network security event and incident escalations from first-level support Network Operations, internal/external clients and business partners
  • Perform root cause analysis with vendor engineers and escalation teams for incidents and problems, along with implementing permanent solutions
  • Responsible for planning and executing software code upgrades including patch management to maintain Technology Currency
  • Execution of network and security infrastructure configuration changes across the global enterprise to adhere to technical security standards and resolve vulnerabilities
  • Creating and continuously improving support / process documentation
  • Security lead for Planned activities such as Disaster Recovery exercise, power maintenance activities and major network changes
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to review and understand new technologies
  • Provide technical requirements and validate functionality in the lab before production implementation
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for automation of repetitive tasks

What do you need to succeed?Must have:

  • Strong experience working with one or more of the following network and security appliances/vendors: CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Pulse Secure, Citrix, SSLv, Cisco Firepower, Blue Coat ProxySG, FireEye, Arbor, Akamai
  • Excellent understanding of networking in an enterprise or complex environment, understanding TCP/IP, including packet inspection/protocol analysis using packet analyzers for troubleshooting is highly desired
  • Good understanding of key protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, Telnet, SSL, NAT, IPSEC, etc.
  • Excellent understanding of the OSI model

​Nice-to-Have:

  • College diploma or University degree related to Information Technology, with a focus on Cyber Security or Telecommunications
  • CISSP certification
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps and Cloud practices
  • CCNP R&S/DC certification or equivalent level of knowledge
  • Fluency in programming languages (Python, Javascript, C, etc.) is considered an asset
  • Cloud Platform Knowledge (Microsoft Azure/Amazon Web Services/GCP)
