RSK Ireland, part of RSK Group offers a wide range environmental consultancy services including those related to Hydrogeology and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).We are now have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director/Principal- Hydrogeology & EIA team which will be based in either our Dublin or Cork offices ideally, operating a Hybrid working model.Current projects range from large scale renewable energy projects, wind and solar farms, contaminated land projects, thermal generation projects and EPA licensed sites. Other projects may include long term monitoring and modelling projects and support function of RSKs water treatment business unitKey Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical and managerial leadership of the EIA and Hydrogeology teams
  • Responsible for the technical output of the team – preparing technical reports and checking those prepared by others.
  • Developing junior and mid-level staff as they develop their technical skills.
  • Providing recruitment and business development advice to Operations Director and senior management team.
  • Managing financial reporting of the team to Operations Director and Managing Director.
  • Potential requirement for provision of expert witness testimony
  • Designing and reviewing Environmental Impact Assessments for relevant Hydrogeology chapters.
  • Reviewing and providing technical support for additional EIA chapters eg. Hydrology, Contaminated Land, Geology / Soils.
  • Hydrogeological support and input on Contaminated Land projects including PSA, GQRA and DQRA.
  • Hydrogeological support and input on Routine Monitoring Projects, hydrogeological risk assessments and baseline reports.
  • Providing technical support and input on Peat Stability Risk Assessment.
  • Technical review of third-party reports.
  • Design of site investigation and field-based works.
  • Prepare specialist reports specific to hydrogeology as required.
  • Manage responses to request for tenders, details and projects in accordance with RSK procedures.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified with a relevant environmental or earth science degree (Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrology) and ideally possess a postgraduate qualification in either Hydrogeology and/or Environmental Impact Assessment.
  • Chartership with a relevant body would be advantageous.
  • Experience as team leader with management responsibilities.
  • Significant experience in the provision of hydrogeology services at a senior level
  • Significant experience with taking a leading role with the management of bids and project.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Extensive experience of reviewing reports written by junior staff.
  • Experience of working on renewable energy projects in Ireland or abroad.
  • Competence in the use of computer software packages required for project work (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Experience with hydrogeological modelling software advantageous but not essential.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
  • Good project financial analysis and control capabilities, including working capital issues.
  • Positive and enthusiastic self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously and make decisions when necessary, within pressing situations.
  • Team player, with the ability to work comfortably within multi-cultural teams in different environments and countries.
  • Full clean driving licence.
