Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Transformation & Enterprise Operations (TEO) employs ~ 2,000 members across Canada, the US and around the world. TEO delivers on RBC’s brand of trust by efficiently managing the movement of money and driving innovation to enable core business partners and T&O. TEO strives to balance an exceptional client experience while driving resilience for the organization as we mobilize on our vision to scale, optimize and enhance our operations. We are accountable for enhancing RBC’s industry leading position in processing a vast array of cash management, payments and trade products for clients on a global basis. TEO is comprised of vertical operations centers, horizontal transformation teams, and talent teams that drive innovation to enable T&O. Within TEO, the Strategy & Operating Office (S&OO) team is accountable for developing our strategy and driving programs / initiatives across TEO to deliver on our strategic ambitions.The Senior Manager, Strategy & Transformation will be responsible for executing on all aspects of our Strategy to enhance, scale and optimize our business. You will lead the planning and development of strategic leadership initiatives, develop content to enable decision-making, and create or support a variety of transformational programs that drive value across our business.What will you do?

  • Identifies, articulates and enables transformation strategies for key focus areas in partnership with line of business experts
  • Develop proposals and recommendations for Senior Leaders and Executives that identify and profile high impact strategies, opportunities, and action plans to transform our business.
  • Creates business cases and develops paths that highlight opportunities for technology enhancement / investment that foster innovation, scalability and efficiency
  • Creates strategy materials and proposals to clearly communicate business value and outcomes to key stakeholders across the bank
  • Acts as a champion of the strategy. Working with our pillar leads to drive change management and activation of our strategy within their teams.
  • Develops clear and concise ways of communicating the business impact of emerging technology, new business models, product offerings, and complex messages, such as the creation of primers, presentations, whitepapers, videos
  • Be a cross-functional team player, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple geographies and seniority level
  • Successfully coach and mentor team members; provide advice, support, and constructive feedback to help direct reports and colleagues thrive

What do you need to succeed?Must have:

  • Ideally MBA from a reputed institution, but a Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Strategy is acceptable for strong candidates
  • 5+ years of transformational change experience including strategy development and initiative execution
  • 5+ years of experience in the delivery of large scale and complex enterprise initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups; preferably initiatives across multiple geographic locations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives with a wide range of stakeholders (senior leadership, suppliers etc.)
  • Strong business acumen with proven ability to simplify ambiguous concepts
  • Effective at working with senior management and operations teams to understand needs and requirements
  • Strong impact & influence abilities including sound insight and judgment into business
  • Past experience working with banking technology initiatives ideally in a strategy capacity
  • Experience conceptualizing and enabling strategic initiatives
  • Extremely strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship management skills with ability to lead, motivate and inspire staff, including promote a culture of high performance that celebrates inclusivity and innovation.
