Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Manager, Business Advisory is an exciting opportunity within Capital Markets Finance Performance Management (PM) where you will provide financial analysis for the Transaction Banking (TB) and Global Credit (GC) businesses.What you will do?

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all TB & GC business related Finance responsibilities in Toronto.
  • Be a key part of the business advisory team – specializing in TB & GC with awareness of the other business lines and ensuring accuracy of business P&L, Balance Sheet and performance metrics.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly management reporting including in-depth analysis of business results and review with local business management on key trends.
  • Play lead role in forecasting and planning processes for TB and GC business.
  • Provide in-depth financial support to business heads and business management on key business initiatives.
  • Continuing development and maintenance of suite of analytical reports including key drivers for the TB & GC business.
  • Primary point of contact for Non-Payment Insurance Group (NPI) and Significant Risk Transfer (SRT) group to provide financial analysis, management reporting and assist in monthly and quarterly ACL/PCL calculations.
  • Manage HSBC financials within respective business by ensuring all aspects for financial reporting & forecasting are accurate and timely.
  • Assist with the investigation into data sources, flows, quality and timing across a global platform – great opportunity to understand how the revenue and associated cost transforms from deal to ledger and profitability along with associated roles and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for helping to provide analytical, actionable, and valuable advice on finance related matters to TB & GC business partners while building relationships with other support groups.
  • The role will require the individual to become familiar with the enquiry tools used within the team (EPM).

What you need to succeed?Must Have

  • 2+ years Finance/Accounting experience
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Performance Management experience
  • Demonstrated advanced expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience
  • Inquisitive/Problem solver
  • Delivery focused
  • Effective communication skills

Nice-to-have

  • RBC systems including EPM
  • Profitability and pricing analysis
  • Analyzing and management of data/use of analytical tools
  • Experience of working in a global team
