For more information, visit americares.org.Americares Values:We create global community, treating people as they want to be treated.We respond effectively and responsibly, putting plans into practice.We embed ethics and equity in our work and workplace.We are better together; partnership is at our core.We ask and listen, to create sustainable solutions for a healthier tomorrow.We commit to quality, growing and improving to ensure individuals and communities thrive.About the position:The Manager, Donor Stewardship will provide strong, compelling written content designed to communicate Americares’ mission, values and impact to Philanthropy and Partnerships (P&P) donors and prospects.Key Outcomes:In the first 90 days, the Manager will:· Learn and live the Americares values.· Complete all required new hire onboarding trainings.· Learn what the current Stewardship calendar and content plan is, working in close partnership with the Associate Director, Donor Stewardship.· Become acquainted with Americares core program areas and priority fundraising program areas.· Learn what the key internal resources are – human, systems, written content – for sourcing donor-facing content.· Begin to take responsibility for all aspects of certain regularly scheduled P&P donor communications.In the first 6 months, the Manager will:· Take full responsibility for several regularly scheduled Stewardship products, such as monthly updates for donors, talking points, emergency communications, etc.· Become a secondary (to the Assoc. Dir., Donor Stewardship) resource for information and content for members of the P&P team as they communicate with donors.· Support 50% of proposal and report writing requests for members of P&P.Duties and Responsibilities:· Sourcing, writing and distributing high-quality donor communications that are catered to P&P donors.· Partnering with members of P&P to write and edit technically acute, compelling and clear private funding proposals and reports.· Being connected to several internal sources of programmatic updates and information in order to leverage that information for donor updates, proposals and reports.· Writing ad hoc donor communications as needed.· Actively model and contribute to Americares values, work culture and mission.· Engage in and contribute to team spaces with openness, global competencies, and a growth mindset· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education and/or Experience required for the role:· A Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in writing and communications for non-profit fundraising and/or marketing.These competencies are required for the role:· Demonstrated experience working within a diverse fundraising or marketing team in a non-profit, and experience partnering with programmatic teams.· Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to source information quickly and integrate several distinct pieces of information into cohesive, compelling narratives.· Ability to work well with a range of people from across functions and departments with diverse work styles.· Systems thinker who can see where processes can be fine-tuned for more efficiency without sacrificing quality of outcomes.US work authorization is required for this role.These competencies would be great to have, but are not required:· Fluency in languages that are spoken in at least one of our core locations (India, Philippines, Tanzania, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, etc.), in addition to English.· Experience working for a large, complex global NGO in the humanitarian sector· Experience with digital marketing platformsAdditionally, our core competencies as an organization are:· Ownership and results· Communication· Problem solving· Equity and inclusion· Teamwork and conflict resolution· Leadership· Prioritization· Management· Strategy and planning· Decision makingWe know not all applicants will demonstrate all the competencies we’re looking for, and that women and underrepresented groups tend to not apply unless they meet all the requirements.
