As a Senior Quality Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Skynet Programme is exploiting technological advances to deliver the next generation of military communication satellites to MOD, together with the equipment and services needed to monitor, protect, control and exploit them.Day-to-day, you’ll lead and be accountable for the Development and Implementation of the Quality Strategy of the Business Unit, in line with the Sector over-arching strategy and Group Strategy and external accreditations.

  • To plan for the required resources to be in place to match the business growth aspirations of the Business Unit.
  • Be accountable for the incoming and outgoing quality of products and services.
  • To be the independent representative of the Customer to deliver products and services in line with Customer contract quality requirements.
  • To design, produce and implement a quality management process considering the unique and common requirements for each bid.
  • To manage quality performance of the Contract in order to detect and fix potential issues before they become actual issues.
  • To manage independent reviews of issues, fix them and to conduct root cause analysis to avoid repeat issues arising.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home. You may be required for longer periods on site if the project demands.Essential Experience of the Senior Quality Manager

  • Significant relevant experience and subject matter expertise and a Quality practitioner and Quality Manager within a large, complex, global organisation.
  • A strategic thinker, with the ability to see ahead to future possibilities.
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively with senior stakeholders, across the business.
  • The ability to develop talent and appropriate succession plans to meet our future requirements across Babcock (not just within the Mission Systems Sector).

Qualifications for the Senior Quality Manager

  • A recognised Quality Management post graduate qualification or demonstration of significant in-role relevant experience.
  • Membership of a recognised quality institute e.g. CQI would be desirable.
