Your role as an MFL teacher’s is to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a foreign language while fostering an understanding of the associated culture. You will create engaging, differentiated lessons, assess progress, and provide feedback to help students improve and build confidence. By using interactive methods and real-life contexts, you will motivate students to enjoy language learning and see its practical value. You will also support school-wide initiatives like language clubs, trips, and cultural events, while continually updating their own skills and knowledge.The Role: Teacher of GermanContract: Full time, Contract (Fixed term cover)Pay: £160 to £245 depending on experienceStart date: ASAPA Secondary school in Stevenage are seeking a MFL teacher with the ability to teach German up to KS4. There would also be elements of teaching French. You would be joining a well-run faculty and the contract will initially be until end of the autumn term but very likely to be extended into the new calendar year.Essential Requirements:

  • Degree: A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service): A background check to ensure the safety of students.
  • Experience in Schools: Demonstrated classroom experience, often gained through work placements during training or volunteering in schools.
  • Professional Skills and Competencies: Effective communication, classroom management, planning, adaptability, and subject knowledge.
  • Teach German: Must be able to teach German up to KS4
