We seek to appoint a full-time cardiology TAVI/Structural fellow for 1 year. The Bristol Heart Institute has been performing TAVI since 2008 and currently performs around 400 cases per annum. 4 specialist valve nurses support the running of the structural programme and the fellow will be expected to work closely with them in the pre, peri and post procedural care of patients. In addition to TAVI there is a comprehensive structural programme including mitra clip, PFO/ASD closure and paravalvar leak closure and depending on time commitments there may be opportunities to be involved in these cases.Main duties of the jobThe fellow can expect to become competent in all aspects of TAVI pre, procedural and post procedural care including CT assessment and planning, outpatient & MDT review, ultrasound guided vascular puncture, valve deployment, percutaneous vascular closure (proglide, prostar, manta) and post procedural care. In addition to excellent clinical and procedural training all fellows are expected to participate in departmental research and educational programmes, present at national and international conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals.Research: It is expected that the successful applicant will support active structural research studies working closely with our research team to identify and enrol appropriate patients.
