Finance Officer – 1 Year Contract – 17597About the OpportunityOur client who is a not-for-profit organization located downtown Ottawa is looking for a Finance Officer to join their team for a 12-month contract.Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead and maintain accounting software (NetSuite) for all modules, providing reporting and training support as needed
- Process payments including EFTs, bill payments, and cheques for approval by the Senior Financial Analyst, Director of Finance, and CEO
- Prepare monthly GST/HST remittances
- Create and post all journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, amortization and investment files
- Prepare monthly and yearly reconciliation of all general ledger accounts
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
- Support mid-year and year-end financial close processes and assist with budget preparation and forecasting
- Provide support for the organization’s audit preparation and closing the year-end
- Coordinate and ensure maintenance of financial procedure descriptions
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- At least 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- At least 1+ year of hands-on experience with Netsuite
